Use cases
Each use case is ranked on two scales: Impact (how much it helps) and Ease (how ready you are to do it).
Impact
Impact has five areas. Default weights:
| Impact area | Weight |
|---|---|
| Flow | 25 |
| Productivity | 20 |
| Quality | 20 |
| Control | 25 |
| Business outcome | 10 |
Ease
| Ease area | Weight |
|---|---|
| Technology available | 35 |
| Team and data ready | 35 |
| Controls in place | 30 |
Weights in each table sum to 100.
How the scores work
Behind each area is an internal score from 1 to 5: 1 means little or no help (or very hard), 3 means moderate, 5 means strong help (or very easy). The weighted mean of the area scores gives the overall rating:
| Rating | Weighted mean |
|---|---|
| Low | Below 2.5 |
| Medium | 2.5 up to 3.5 |
| High | Above 3.5 |
The public table shows each area with its weight and the reason, not the internal score.
Reading a use-case page
- Impact and Ease ratings sit at the top.
- Their combination places the use case: Do now (high impact, high ease), Fix first (high impact, low ease), Easy adds (lower impact, high ease) or Later.
- The area table shows why each rating was given.
- Required controls and risks tell you what must be in place first.
