Automation journey scale
Each process is placed on a scale from 0 to 10. Pick the description that fits how the work is done today on the main path.
Five stages, from Manual to Agentic
Your GAAPx Score shows up as a stage. There are five, numbered 0 to 4, from Manual to Agentic. Each stage covers a band on the 0 to 100 scale. The score is self-assessed, so the stage is too. Nobody requires you to reach Stage 4.
Stages by area
Find the cell in each row that sounds most like your team today. Check what you can see, not what you plan.
How the score works
Where does your work spend its week, working or waiting? You answer four short questions about each of eight areas of finance work, 32 questions in all. Each answer is a pick from five bands, and each band is worth points. The points add up to a score out of 10 for the area. The eight areas then average into your GAAPx Score, a whole number out of 100.
The eight areas
GAAPx covers eight areas of finance work, all weighted equally. Each area holds a few workflows. You answer four scored questions for each area, 32 in all, and the area is scored on how lean it is. Your answers and the resulting GAAPx Score are self-assessed. "Not sure" is always allowed and counts as the lowest level, so answer what you can. See how the score works.
Governance and AI risk
AI oversight describes who checks what AI does before its work counts. We use four levels Govern, Map, Measure and Manage. We make no claim of NIST alignment, certification or endorsement.
NIST AI RMF mapping
The governance questions in GAAPx are informed by the NIST AI Risk Management Framework. This page shows which framework function each question sits under. The mapping is at function level only: Govern, Map, Measure and Manage.
Metric definitions
A metric is only useful when two companies measure it the same way. Each metric is written with the fields below. More definitions are coming from contributors.
How we rate use cases
Every use case in the directory gets an Impact rating and an Ease rating. Each is High, Medium or Low. This page shows how the words are decided, so you can check any rating against your own situation.
